“ Perfect place to stop on the way to Yosemite! We came here for breakfast, and loved this 1950s themed diner and food. Menus at every table, order at the counter. Friendly service. Huuuge menu! ”
“ Yummy burger/diner spot. Was staying in Mariposa for our trip to Yosemite. Was craving a burger and this place really hit the spot. Plenty of seating inside, the walls are decorated with old record covers, it's pretty neat, goes with the old school vibe of the place. I got the guacamole burger. I liked it! Thick cuts of bacon and green chile and a nice layer of guacamole. I also upgraded to the fried zucchini, worth it. Would definitely come back. Service was good. Friendly staff. Small parking lot in front. ”
“ Lots of choices on the menu, clean, and friendly staff. Perfect little stop for a quick bite. Kids meals come with a toy! Gluten free buns available! ”
“ Happy Burger in Mariposa is the kind of roadside diner you hope to find on a long drive. The place is plastered with old record sleeves from the '60s, '70s, and '80s, and the booths are full of folks who'll tell you all about local goings-on. The menu's big, but the hamburgers are what you want--served up with your choice of fries and a decision between Pepsi or Coke. I stopped in with my nine-year-old and the grandparents after touring the Mariposa Museum and History Center (it's one the Smithsonian praises, and rightfully so). The staff at Happy Burger was all smiles, and by the time I finished my meal, I nearly bought a Mariposa Grizzlies shirt just to take a piece of that community feeling home with me. This diner's a real gem, exactly what every small town deserves. ”
“ A local diner on the way to Yosemite! The cashier was a kind humorous man. The sourdough burger was delicious! Even the breakfast burrito was loaded! It is worth the try! ”
“ Very nice spot to eat on the way to Yosemite. I was actually driving south on Hwy 49 and remembered the positive reviews, so I stopped in. I was pleasantly surprised how friendly the staff was, the generous choices, and ordered a BLT and it was wonderful. It is not too far from where I live and I cannot wait to go back. Additionally after I left, I realized I miscalculated my tip amount. I now wish I would have left a larger one. ”
“ Visiting yosemite and after a long day this is just what everyone needed. We had a group of 10 and it accommodated everyone. Service was fast and the place was clean. They claim to have the biggest menu and i think they do. our favorites ... burgers, steak sandwiched, fries, bake potatoes, and the bread bowl clam chowder! so good so so - mozzarella sticks & salad bar- salad looked old and so did fruit not good- mexican rice and beans we only had the rice and beans of the mexican menu but they did not look good, but tasted okay ”
“ A coworker of mine who lives in the foothills suggested I try this place while in town for a work meeting. I finally made it here on my last day--as my last stop out of town before returning home. Happy Burger boasts about their huge menu. And huge it is! There is nothing small or understated about this place....with the walls covered in album covers, a juke box playing in the corner, fun little coin rides for kids, souvenirs for sale, and so many food options, this place is pretty great! It was also very clean, which is something I always appreciate. I really loved their salad bar, which was protected on all sides by glass. I didn't order, but it clearly was filled with lots of fresh options. I ended up ordering the ortega burger on a wheat bun, ditching the jalapeno sauce (I'm a wuss), and adding pickles and mayo to the sandwich. (sorry-can't get a burger without pickles). I also ordered the shoestring fries, and at the last minute, added the fried green beans--all to go. It took a short minute to get my food, because it is all made fresh to order. If you are in a rush--you can call ahead and have your order ready to go. I didn't mind the wait. Everything was packaged in a way that was easy for me to eat in my car on the way home. The fries were crispy and very salty. I love salty french fries--so they were perfect. If you watch your salt, you definitely want to say something when you order to reduce how much they add to your order. The fried green beans were delicious--with a super crispy batter that tasted like onions--maybe they use the same batter for their onion rings? They were a bit greasy, but the paper bag helped absorb the excess. As for the burger, it was thick, juicy, flavorful, and maybe the best burger I've had all year. I had to call my loved one and rave about how great this burger was. It was soo good, I might actually drive through Mariposa the next time I head to Yosemite (it is not the quickest path for me), just for one of these burgers. ”
“ Great diner spot right before making your way into Yosemite or at the end of a long day of hiking. We were staying in Mariposa, and found this diner. Staff are very friendly, and help take your order right away and you can take a seat. Food comes out pretty quickly. We tried their burgers, fries, and shakes, all of which were delicious and filling after a long day of hiking. ”
